Position Overview:

PACHS is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Practice Clinic RN/LPN/CMA to provide competent care to patients in a clinic setting. This role involves direct patient care, assisting providers, and ensuring a high level of patient safety and satisfaction. You will be responsible for preparing patients for visits, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care within scope of practice for all ages.

  • Prepare patients for their visits, document chief complaints, allergies, vital signs, and other pertinent information.

  • Assist providers with exams and procedures as needed.

  • Perform lab/diagnostic tests and ensure quality control; report critical lab values to providers.

  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as ordered, and document all treatments provided.

  • Provide patient education using the "teach-back" method to ensure patient understanding.

  • Screen and manage incoming phone calls from patients, and provide follow-up as needed.

  • Maintain patient records accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

  • Ensure all clinical equipment is maintained and properly sanitized.

  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, LPN or RN, or Graduate of Medical Assisting Program.

  • Current State of Iowa Nursing License if applicable.

  • Six months of previous ambulatory care nursing experience preferred.

  • BLS/CPR certification required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changes in healthcare processes.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
