Position Overview:

Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a dedicated CNA Apprentice to provide assistance with clerical and clinical activities throughout the facility in an apprenticeship role. This role involves basic patient care, coordinating the needs of the nursing unit, and supporting all departments on a rotating basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide basic patient care and assist with ADLs.
• Answer phone calls and patient call lights.
• Help with errands on and off the unit.
• Conduct clerical work when clinical work is not being completed.
• Rotate through all hospital departments.
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year and 36 hours per week during the summer.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in High School, going into Junior year as of Fall 2025.
• Completes Dependent/Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporting within 6 months of hire.
• Renews Dependent/Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporting requirement every 5 years.
• Maintains current BLS certification.
• Excellent communication skills including speaking, hearing, and written skills.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to deal with diverse audiences.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Adapts positively to the ever-changing healthcare environment by supporting technology and process changes.
• Must be comfortable using Excel and Word.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate residents and meet job requirements.
