Position Overview:

Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Overnight Resource Supervisor to lead and support nursing and ancillary staff during overnight shifts. This role combines clinical nursing responsibilities with leadership duties, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication between shifts, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise nursing and ancillary staff during overnight hours.
• Ensure continuity of care and communication across shifts.
• Provide direct patient care, including in the ER and OB as needed.
• Support and mentor staff, participate in orientation, and precept new employees.
• Monitor quality measures and assist with audits, chart abstraction, and discharge planning.
• Serve as a resource for hospital policies, procedures, and EHR systems.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with patient registration and security during night shifts.
• Maintain professional communication with medical staff and leadership.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC.
• Minimum 5 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience and clinical expertise in OB and ER preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in computer systems and adaptable to technology and process changes.
• Willingness to work flexible overnight hours and support a multidisciplinary team.
