Position Summary:
PACHS is seeking a Registered Nurse Resource Supervisor to oversee nursing and hospital operations during assigned shifts. This role combines direct patient care with administrative responsibilities, ensuring high standards of care and smooth facility operations in the absence of department leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise nursing and ancillary staff during assigned shifts.
- Provide direct patient care and ensure adherence to nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Act as the administrative representative, making decisions to support hospital operations.
- Participate in staff orientation and serve as a resource for clinical and operational questions.
- Support discharge planning, case management, and utilization review.
- Assist in Emergency and OB departments as needed.
- Respond to hospital emergencies and ensure timely documentation in the EMR.
- Maintain open communication with medical staff and leadership.
- Monitor quality measures and support regulatory compliance (including CAH standards).
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current Iowa RN license.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC.
- Minimum 5 years of acute care experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience and clinical background in OB and ER preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in computer systems and clinical documentation tools.
