Position Overview:

Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to collect blood, urine, and hair specimens, perform waived lab tests, and assist with clerical duties. This role supports patient care across all age groups and requires strong customer service and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and label specimens using proper techniques and patient identifiers.
• Process and verify lab tests per protocol.
• Perform waived testing and maintain competency standards.
• Use lab software and follow downtime procedures.
• Support clerical tasks: data entry, phones, filing, and faxing.
• Assist with supply management and billing tasks.
• Provide age-appropriate care and uphold PACHS values.
• Cross-train for outpatient, clinic, and nursing home collections.

Requirements:

• Preferred: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Completes Mandatory Reporting as assigned.
